Added: 20.05.2013 15:38 | 9 views | 0 comments

Forbes - Star Trek: Into Darkness, directed by J.J. Abrams, opens in movies theaters across the U.S. today. The film [avoiding spoilers] centers around the U.S.S. Enterprises mission to find and stop an indomitable super-man, John Harrison, who led a deadly attack on Starfleet headquarters in San Francisco. He appears to be a former agent of the top-secret Starfleet Section 31 organization. Captain Kirk, whose ship is armed with powerful ultra-destructive photon torpedoes, leads the crew to Kronos on a manhunt for Harrison for the purpose of destroying him as a deadly threat to the Federation and its ideals. When Kirk and his crew arrive on Kronos, he discovers a different truth about Harrison, and the field of battle takes a dangerous and climactic turn for humanity and for Earths future.

Star Trek Rivals Review (iPad)

Gamezebo Rating: 60

The Star Trek film reboots have successfully brought classic The Original Series back into mainstream popularity. Updated Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are again blockbuster sensations, worthy of their own licensed iOS game. Star Trek Rivals, the result of that gamification, is an aesthetically polished card battler that draws on another classic, Final Fantasy VIII’s Triple Triad. Unfortunately, its issues overshadow its innovations, resulting in a game that could be great only if future updates give ‘er all she’s got.

Star Trek Into Darkness Weak $84 Million Domestic Box Office Follows Paramount Video Game Flop

Added: 20.05.2013 2:18 | 1 views | 0 comments

Forbes - Despite having a decent Metacritic rating of 73, the Star Trek Into Darkness movie failed to build on the domestic success that the original JJ Abrams reboot had established four years ago. The film, which was forecast to break the $100 million barrier over its extended weekend launch, made just $84 million ($2 million Wednesday, $11.5 million Thursday, $22 million Friday, $27.2 million Saturday and an estimated $21.2 million Sunday). And thats the second consecutive piece of bad news for Paramount Pictures. The Hollywood studio, which officially entered the Star Trek video game space with Digital Extremes Star Trek: The Video Game in April, crashed and burned with that interactive adventure. That game, which had a full three years of development because of Star Trek IIs delay, still felt rushed when it hit store shelves and was plagued with glitches galore. That resulted in a horrendous 39 Metacritic score on PC (the most powerful platform) and a 43 and 46 rating on...
